Luxury Hangers Project

These make a nice gift for someone who has everything. If you make them from
ultra suede, suiting or a tweed, it makes a nice man's gift as well.

You will need:

  • 2 wooden hangars
  • strips of polyester quilt batt
  • 2 pces. of taffeta or satin
  • 1 yd. lace with 1 straight edge.

DIRECTIONS:

Padded hangerWrap your wooden hangars with batting, making it nice and cushy.

Lay your hangar on wrong side of fabric, trace around leaving 3/4" seam allowance. Go round entire wooden part.

Cut 2 hangar shapes for each hangar. Place right sides together and stitch along top and side edges. Leave 1" opening for hook.

Press bottom edge under 1/4". Sew lace along bottom edge going around entire front and back.

Place fabric over hook and tack lace together along straight edge. Tie bow around the base of the hook and hand sew to keep in place.

NOTE: You can sew a shank button about 3" in from each end to keep straps from falling off. Better yet, large ribbon roses.
