Spider Web Eggs

These eggs look sophisticated and beautiful, and are not really that hard to make. Since you need balloons in the construction, and the materials are not edible, I suggest only doing this with a kindergarten-age child or older. Parental supervision is required. Do this out in the driveway as it makes a mess!

You will need:

Small balloons
Colored crochet string
Liquid stiffener, available at fabric stores or craft stores
Large plastic sheets (to cover work area)
Waxed paper or plastic (to dry project on)
Gallon sized zip-up bag
Wet washrags for clean-up
Scissors
Glitter, ribbons, etc.

Directions:

Cover your work area with the plastic sheets or giant trash bags. Blow up balloons to a reasonable size—not too big, or it will use too much crochet string. Put colored crochet string in a gallon size bag and put stiffener in it with a bit of water to dilute just slightly.
