Pony Bead Shamrock Keychain

Pony Bead Shamrock Keychain

Materials:

  • 51 small green pony beads
  • 18" craft wire (green, black, or white)

Equipment:

  • scissors
  • pliers (optional)

Instructions:

  1. String 15 pony beads onto your wire. Push them about 1" away from one end of the wire.

  2. Loop the wire around to creat a cirlce with the beads. Twist the wire together tight up agains the beads.

  3. Use scissors to trim the short piece of wire very close to where the wire was twisted together.

  4. String another 15 pony beads onto the wire, pushing them close up against the loop you've already formed.

  5. Loop the wire again to create another circle of beads. This time, twist the wire around the twist that you made previously.

  6. Follow the above procedure one more time, stringing 15 more beads onto the wire and twisting the wire around the previous twist.

  7. You've now created three leave. Twist the remaining wire down between the leave so that you can make a stem. You may need to twist the wire around the center point one more time to do this.

  8. String six beads onto the wire. Loop the wire back over the last bead you strung and string the wire back up into the second last bead. Keep stringing the wire back into the remaining four beads in the stem. Pull the wire tight (you may want to use pliers at this step).

  9. Twist the wire around the center (previous twists) a few times to secure it and use the scissors to cut off any excess wire.

  10. Now shape your shamrock's leaves by pushing the edges toward the center a little (to flatten them out).

  11. Attach a key ring using another small piece of wire.
