Office Calendar

Office Calendar, Father's Day Crafts, Homemade Gift Idea

This easy to make calendar is perfect for Dad's office. Have the calendar go from June to June so that you can make him one for next year too. Include birthdays, special events and schedules for the kids like when piano lessons are and days off from school.

What you will need:

1. 12 white cardstock 12x12 sheets of paper
2. At least 24 different colored pieces of cardstock. You may consider choosing colors in groups of two so that they coordinate with the month. For example for July you may want to use red and blue, and for December you may want to use green and red.
3. Acid free glue stick
4. Small number sticker packages. You will probably need between 12 and 16 full sheets.
5. Large letter stickers in colors that coordinate with the papers. You will probably need at least 12 sheets of stickers.
6. Paper cutter
7. 6 White pieces of cardstock
8. Weekday name stamps or computer and printer to print off the days of the week.

Directions:

1. You will want to begin by cutting out the pieces for the calendar page. Choose one of the colored papers and cut a 1 3/8 inch strip of paper.
2. Cut the strip at 1 3/8 inch intervals so that you have 1 3/8 x 1 3/8 inch squares.
3. You will want 17 squares in the first color.
4. Cut the same size squares out of a second color. You will want 18 squares in this color.
5. Cut out 35 white cardstock 1 2/8 inch squares.
6. With one of the colors cut out a piece that is 10 2/8 x2 inches.
7. With the other color cut out a piece that is 9 ½ x 1 ½ inches.
8. With the first color cut out a strip of paper that is 10 2/8 x ½ inches.
9. Glue the 10 2/8 x 2 inch strip about one inch from the top of a 12x12 white sheet of cardstock.
10. Underneath this glue the 10 2/8 x ½ inch strip.
11. Below this begin laying out the colored squares so that there are seven across and five down. You will probably want to alternate colors.
12. When you have gotten the squares placed straight on the page begin gluing them down.
13. On top of the colored square glue the white squares onto them so that they are framed by the color.
14. On the 10 2/8 x 2 inch strip glue the 9 ½ x 1 ½ inch strip so that it is centered.
15. Inside the 9 ½ x 1 ½ inch strip center and stick on letter stickers to spell out the month you are working on.
16. On the 10 2/8 x ½ inch strip stamp or glue on the printout of the day of the week above each row of squares starting with Sunday.
17. Be sure to check and make sure you know what day the month starts on, then stick on number stickers in each square to create your calendar.
18. Repeat this process for the rest of the months of your calendar.
19. You can now take the pages to any store that provides printing services and they will be able to spiral bind it.
20. You may want to also consider putting pictures of the family on the back side of the pages above each month.
