MATERIALS:

Small amount of Aunt Lydia's Denim Quick Crochet
Size F hook

Finishing Materials

Small button
Tapestry needle

Gauge: Not important to over all size.

Finished Size: 2" x 2"

INSTRUCTIONS:

Purse:
Rnd 1) Ch 10; 2 sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc in next 7 ch, 3 sc in last chain, working back in opposite side of foundation chain, sc in next 7 ch, sc in last ch (shared by first 2 sc); join with a slip st in back loop of first sc: 20 sc.

Rnd 2) (Working in back loops this round only); Ch 1, sc in joining; * sc in next sc; repeat from * around; join with a slip st in first sc: 20 sc.

Rnd 3) Ch 2 (counts as first hdc, now and throughout); * hdc in next sc; repeat from * around; join with a slip st to 2nd chain of first ch 2: 20 hdc.

Rnd 4) Ch 1, sc in joining; * sc in next hdc; repeat from * around; join with a slip st in first sc: 20 sc.

Rnds 5-9) Repeat rounds 3 and 4 respectively, ending with Rnd 3. Do not end off.

Flap:
Row 1) (Note: you may need to slip st in next 2 stitches for flap placement to be centered); Ch 1; * sc in next hdc; repeat from * across: 10 sc.

Row 2) Ch 2, turn work; * hdc in next sc; repeat from * across: 10 hdc.

Row 3) Ch 1, turn work; Dec in first 2 sts, sc in next 6 hdc, dec in last 2 sts: 8 sc.

Row 4) Ch 1, turn work; Dec in first 2 sts, sc in next 4 sc, dec in last 2 sts: 6 sc.

Row 5) Ch 1, turn work; Dec in first 2 sts, sc in next 2 sc, dec in last 2 sts: 4 sc.

Row 6) Ch 1, turn work; Dec in first 2 sts, dec in last 2 sts: 2 sc.

Row 7) Ch 1, turn work: Dec in last 2 sts, ch 6 (button loop); slip st in last st on flap. Fasten off, secure ends.

Handle:
Attach Denim to Rnd 9, in hdc before flap starts; Ch 100, slip st in opposite side of purse on round 9 in hdc before flap. Fasten off, secure ends.

Finishing:
Sew button to center front of purse, aligning with button loop on flap.
